Skeletons found in Midnapore

Midnapore (West Bengal): Villagers suspecting that bodies were buried near former West Bengal Communist Party of India (Marxist) Minister Sushanta Ghosh's house in West Midnapore district, on Saturday dug a pit and found seven skeletons, police sources said.

Upon finding seven skeletons and a huge quantity of human bone fragments in the pit, Malikdanga residents informed the police about the discovery, sources said.

Security personnel joined in the excavations and will continue it on Sunday, sources added.

Two skeletons were also found at the Bhanderbelia village in Jhargram area after information was provided by an arrested Maoist leader, sources said.
