Mercury soars across north India

NEW DELHI: The temperature crossed the 40-degrees Celsius mark at several places in north India. New Delhi recorded 42.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, the maximum at most of the places remained above 40 degrees Celsius, with Hisar being the hottest at 43.5 degrees
