Bangalore: A housewife was robbed of her two gold chains worth Rs. 60,000 in Dwaraka Nagar in the Girinagar police station limits here on Sunday. J. Somashekar, the victim's husband, has in his complaint said that the incident occurred around 4 a.m. when his wife was sleeping next to an open window. “A man snatched away the chain from the window. The accused escaped before an alarm could be raised,” he said. Charas seized Two persons were arrested and charas weighing 1.05 kilograms were seized from them by the Special Enquiry Squad officials of Central Crime Branch (CCB). The arrested have been identified as Vikas Mangar alias Bikas (29) of West Bengal and Govind Gatraj (30) of Himachal Pradesh and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 (NDPS ACT). Sources in the CCB said that the accused were supplying drugs to students in the city. The seized contraband is valued at Rs. 4 lakh in the international market, the police said.
