NEW DELHI: A smoke warning in the cargo hold of GoAir flight G8-201 with 165 passengers and six crew on board prompted the pilot to make an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Monday.
The flight was bound for Bangalore from Delhi.
“The plane departed from the IGI airport at 9-25 a.m. After about 15 minutes, by which time the aircraft had travelled about 32 km south, the pilot reported a smoke warning. The emergency landing took place safely at 9-42 a.m.,” an airport official said.
Four fire tenders were pressed into service.
