IGNOU Student ranks 7 {+t} {+h} in Civil Services 2010

Mr. Karthik Gurunathan Iyer an M.A student of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) secured All India 7 {+t} {+h} rank in the Civil Services 2010 examination announced IGNOU VC Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai.  Mr. Karthik has cleared the examination conducted by UPSC in his first attempt at the age of 21. His optional subjects for the Prelimns examination was Political Science and International Relations for the main examination. He is a student of M.A in Political Science from IGNOU, and used IGNOU course material in his preparation.

 In a communication to the Regional Centre, Nagpur of IGNOU, Mr. Karthik comments-

 “While it took time and effort to complete reading the IGNOU books, they surely boosted my performance by getting good marks for me in my optional Political science.I used them for Value Addition in my answers and got very good scores. I have secured a total of 346 (181+165) in my two papers of the subject, and I believe my notes helped me achieve this..I thank IGNOU professors for coming out with such a great and detailed set of notes for people like me, who are dependent on them for their preparation. I am indebted to the painstaking efforts of your staff for continually updating these notes and providing me with the right guidance.You have helped me showcase that attending grueling coaching sessions in Delhi is not the only way or the best way to prepare for the UPSC exams. Good reading material coupled with hard-work and determination can also surely take you there.”
