Case against 5 forest officials, a reporter

Tirupur: The District Crime Branch has registered a case against five forest officials and a reporter of a Tamil daily on the charge of foisting a case against a 49-year-old man.

DCB sources said that the forest officials along with the Udumalpet-based reporter, who also works part-time for a satellite channel, conspired against the man and put a wild animal in his house to get him arrested. The man was eventually remanded in that case. These facts got exposed after an investigation conducted by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) recently based on a complaint given by the victim, DCB sources added.
