Shankaranarayana Rao passes away

Shimoga: Shimoga District Working Journalists Association has condoled the death of veteran freedom fighter and journalist T.D. Shankaranarayana Rao.

Mr. Shankaranarayana Rao, who passed away on Monday, had taken part in the Quit India Movement and was imprisoned for 22 days by the British. He played a key role in the setting up of Deshiya Vidya Shala in the city.

He had served in many State-level and local Kannada dailies.
