State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur doing good business

JAIPUR: State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) registered an increase of 17.1 per cent in its overall business during the year 2010-11. The bank's net interest income recorded an increase of 46.1 per cent while its net profit stood at 21 per cent. This was revealed at the 50th annual general body meeting (AGM) of the bank's shareholders here.

Presiding over the AGM, State Bank Group chairman Pratip Chaudhuri termed SBBJ's performance for 2010-11 as “excellent”. This was despite the turbulence in the global economy during the period, he noted. After discussions the shareholders accepted the balance sheet. The dividend to the shareholders paid during the year 2010-11 was 164 per cent against 144 per cent in the previous year.

The AGM was attended by SBBJ Managing Director Shiv Kumar and R. Shridharan, Managing Director and Group Executive (Associates and Subsidiaries).
