Bangalore: The Legislative Assembly on Tuesday passed Supplementary Estimates amounting to Rs. 1,965.28 crore. The estimates related to advances sanctioned from the contingency fund to cover expenditure on new services after the supplementary estimates (third instalment) were placed before the House in February 2011. Of the Rs. 1,965.28 crore, Rs. 41.30 crore is covered by Central assistance and Rs. 15.94 crore is by adjustments. A sum of Rs. 840 crore is expected to be funded from savings and the balance net cash out-go of Rs. 1,068.03 crore is expected to be funded from the general buoyancy in tax and non-tax revenues. Title deeds Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa told the Lower House that the Government will not displace families residing in forest areas of the State. Steps would be taken to issue title deeds to families that have constructed houses on revenue and forest land. Earlier, replaying to questions raised by several ruling party members on houses for slum dwellers in urban areas, Housing Minister V. Somanna said steps would be taken to issue title deeds for slum dwellers in cities and towns.
