Pankaj Advani begins well

BANGALORE: Pankaj Advani scored a 150-12 win over Wilson Fernandes in the G. Raman Nair handicap prize money invitation billiards tournament on Wednesday. Advani, with a handicap of -900, had three century breaks.

Advani, Dhruv Sitwala, Devendra Joshi and B. Bhaskar have been seeded directly into the super league, along with I.H. Manudev, Uma Devi Nagaraj, Mundir Sherazi and Sasha Sambi.

The eight qualifiers who made the league were Jasim Tawin, M.L. Laxman (both KSBA), Francis Joe (ECA), Wilson Fernandes (Catholic Club) , Rajeev Duseja (KSCA), L. Nagaraj , Sajan Bopanna (both KSBA) and Bharath Chugh (KSCA).

The results: M.L. Lakshman (-225) bt Mundir Sherazi (-500) 151-106; I.H. Manudev (-500) bt Sajan Bopanna (-350) 151-20; Sasha Sambi (-300) bt Bharat Chugh (-250) 150-70; R. Uma Nagaraj (-275) bt Francis Joe (-200) 153-42; Pankaj Advani (-900) bt Wilson Fernanades (-250) 150-12 .
