Special officers' terms extended

CHENNAI: The Assembly on Wednesday passed a bill extending the terms of special officers heading cooperative societies across the State by another six months. As elections could not be conducted before May 24, 2011, to primary cooperative societies, the government decided to extend the terms of the special officers, said Cooperation Minister Sellur K. Raju
