THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Southampton (U.K.) has invited applications for its new M.Sc. programme in Space Systems Engineering. This new programme is suitable for Physics and engineering graduates and will focus on the design of all the elements that make up a space mission. It would give scientists and engineers the essential knowledge and skills to enable them to compete for jobs in the fast-growing world of space engineering, a press note said. The programme will have Spacecraft Engineering Design, Concurrent Engineering Design, Spacecraft Instrumentation, and Spacecraft Structural Design as core modules. The course starts in October 2011 and there are 20 seats. It is a full-time, one-year course and the fee is £13,900. Candidates who wish to enrol for the course should have an high second-class honours degree or equivalent in engineering, Mathematics or a science-based subject.
