PATHANAMTHITTA: The Akhil Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sanghom (ABASS) has called upon the government to initiate measures to improve basic pilgrim facilities at the Nilackal base camp and at Uppupara.
In a statement here on Thursday, ABASS national vice-president D. Vijayakumar hailed the move of Devaswom Minister V.S. Sivakumar to convene review meetings on Sabarimala soon with a view to ensuring the smooth conduct of the Mandalam-Makaravilaku festival.
Mr.Vijayakumar urged the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) as well as the State government to ensure proper surfacing of the network of roads linking various vehicle parking lots at the Nilackal base camp well before the beginning of the pilgrimage season.
