Cultural programme

Shimoga: “Lalitha Kala Vaibhava”, a programme to promote gamaka and katha keertana art forms, will be held under the aegis of Lalitha Kala Kendra at Kuvempu Rangamandira here on June 11 at 6 p.m..

Mallikarjuna Murugharajendra Swamiji of Bekkinakalmath will inaugurate the programme. Poet N.S. Lakshminarayana Bhatta, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Hari Kumar, Karnataka Sahitya Parishat district unit president M.N. Sundar Raj, Honorary president of the Kendra Girija Das will take part in the inaugural ceremony. Artistes H.R. Keshavamurthy and Markandeya Avadhani will present a gamakha concert. The keertanas composed by poets of Hari Dasa tradition will be rendered on the occasion.

Lalitha Kala Kendra president Tara Prasad told presspersons here on Thursday that about 100 programmes had been held in four years.
