NEW DELHI: Half-a-dozen people, including a woman, have been arrested in different parts of the Capital on charges of drug peddling. Shiv Prasad Jaiswal was arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch near Peeragarhi metro railway station. The police purportedly seized 3.5 kg of hashish from him. The accused, a resident of Bihar, had procured the stuff from Birganj in Nepal for his clients in the Capital. In another case, Baby was arrested allegedly with 200 gm of smash on Tilak Marg. According to the police, her husband was also a drug peddler. He died about three months ago, after which she took over the business. Baby allegedly procured the supplies from Babu, a resident of Chandni Chowk. The accused, who lives in a jhuggi, has all amenities like AC, refrigerator and television. The accused, Rohit, Prince Yadav, Harpreet and Kishan Lal, were arrested at Khyala in West Delhi. During interrogation, they purportedly disclosed that the consignment was delivered to them at Nizamuddin railway station by their contacts from Orissa at the instance of one Sunil. “Sunil gave Rs.1,000 per delivery to each of them,” said a police officer.
