KOCHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kerala, in association with Rubber Board, is organising a one-day conference on ‘Rubber processing technologies and investment opportunities — Kerala Rubber Convention 2011' at Hotel Fairmont, Kottayam, on June 14. Minister for Finance K.M. Mani will inaugurate the event. The theme will be ‘Sustainable rubber manufacturing and processing.' “The convention will be a platform to showcase technology, ideas, and solutions in rubber processing and help rubber planters, entrepreneurs, and regional and national players to attain sustainability and competencies. It will enhance technological intervention and highlight Kerala's potential as a promising investment destination,” convention chairman and Paragon Polymer Products Private Ltd. director K.T. Thomas said. Consul General of Malaysia Anuar Kasman, Consul General of Thailand Chanchai Charanvatnakit, Rubber Board Chairperson Sheela Thomas, Indonesian Trade Promotion director Aksamil Khair, Harrisons Malayalam Ltd. managing director Pankaj Kapoor; All-India Rubber Industries Association president Vinod T. Simon; Rubber Research Institute of India Director James Jacob; and Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association director-general Rajiv Budhraja are expected to attend.
