K. Haribabu VISAKHAPATNAM: BJP national executive member K. Haribabu on Saturday said issues like corruption and stashing black money in foreign banks would be solved only when students and youth take an active part in politics. “For weeding out corruption and bringing all the corrupt people to book and to cleanse the existing system, they should have a proper understanding of the problems facing the country,” he said speaking at a political awareness programme organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) here. Stating that every problem was connected to power – whether there was disruption in power supply or rash driving by city buses -- he said if the youth take an active part in politics, all these problems could be set right. He said students and youth responded well when JP called for Sampoorna Kranti against corruption. “In Vizag we used to have private city buses which were known for rash and careless driving. After the death of some students, Andhra University students spearheaded an agitation in 1975 which subsequently led to introduction of city service by APSRTC,” he pointed out. Mr. Haribabu, a former MLA, said a student leader could become the Chief Minister of Assam after a students' agitation over infiltration of refugees. Students also played a key role in Navnirman Movement of Gujarat.
