PCC office-bearers from Telangana say that party is unable to take up programmes in the region Ministers and legislators are not able to tour Telangana districts freely: PCC office-bearers
In charge: APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana assuming office at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Sunday. HYDERABAD: APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana will undertake district tours once he completes his maiden visit to native Vizianagaram district on June 18. Mr. Satyanarayana after taking over as the State party unit president, visited Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters on Sunday, and held an informal meeting with the available PCC office- bearers. He reportedly told office-bearers that he would first visit Vizianagaram on June 18 and plans to undertake tours of the other districts. He is exploring the possibility of covering one district in at least eight or ten days. Nominated posts When some office-bearers referred to delay in filling of nominated posts, he assured them that the process would be taken up shortly. They are understood to have said that cadres were eagerly waiting for the filling of corporation posts. Some PCC executive members complained that some office bearers, who were either elected as MLAs or nominated as MLCs had completely stopped coming to the party headquarters. They also wanted the Ministers to spend at least one or two hours in Gandhi Bhavan once a month to interact with the cadres. ‘TDP better off' It is learnt that a few PCC office-bearers from Telangana regretted that the party was unable to take up programmes in the region. They said the TDP was better off as it could hold two meetings in Karimnagar and Tandur despite trouble and protests. They pointed out that Congress Ministers and legislators were not able to tour the districts freely. The meeting was attended by APCC general secretaries – Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar, G. Niranjan, Tripurana Venkataratnam, D.V. Satyanarayana Rao, S. Laksminarayana and Rajani Reddy, vice-presidents – Madasu Gangadharam and Hari Rama Devi and spokesperson B. Kamalakar Rao attended.
