VHR wants chapter 8 of SKC made public

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao has demanded that the controversial Chapter 8 of Justice Srikrishna Committee be made public.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Hanumantha Rao termed the secret portion of the Chapter VIII as ‘highly objectionable' and insulting to the people of Telangana.

He said the Chapter – VIII, “Law and Order and Internal security dimensions” covered issues that were not in the terms of reference.

He said the supplementary note submitted by the committee to the Centre spoke about political management, media management and full preparedness and gave clear indication that the panel recommendations were against the interests of the region.

Mr. Hanumantha Rao questioned the rationale behind keeping the particular chapter secret.
