Congress workers stage protest

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: A large number of Congress workers staged a protest outside Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology on Bannerghata Road here on Sunday demanding that Balanarasimha Gowda, a former Taluk Panchayat president of Kanakapura and accused in the D.K Suresh murder plot, be discharged from hospital.

The workers, who had gathered for the protest, also sought the immediate arrest of Mr. Balanarasimha Gowda, a Janata Dal(S) functionary. Though he was arrested on Friday, the accused got himself admitted to the hospital citing health reasons. But, the protesters alleged that the accused was being “protected”.

Mr. Balanarasimha Gowda is one of the four accused in the murder plot. The others are in jail.
