Collector inspects development works under MNREGS

COIMBATORE: Collector M. Karunakaran recently inspected the development works taken up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) in Sulur area.

The Collector inspected the road development works under progress in Kadampadi Panchayat at a cost of Rs. 3.10 lakh and the works for improvements to the canal at Kangeyampalayam at Rs. 71 lakh.

Design

He exhorted the panchayat union supervisor and engineer to prepare the design in such a way that there was no variance in the gradient or undulations affecting the flow of water. The canal on completion should be effective in serving the purpose, he said.

Mr. Karunakaran also inspected the work for construction of Sulur Panchayat Union office building at a cost of Rs. 1.5 lakh. He called for completion of the works within the stipulated time.

He also asked the officials to set a time frame for each stage of construction.
