Maoists launch counter offensive

K. Srinivas Reddy

HYDERABAD: Maoists have launched a fresh Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign (TCOC) against security forces in the Bastar forests. They believe that the Centre and the Chhattisgarh government have commenced the second phase of Operation Green Hunt with the Army moving its personnel into Bastar for ‘training' the forces.

A sudden spurt in Maoist attacks has claimed the lives of 35 personnel so far in five different incidents reported from May 17.
