Auto driver kidnaps five-year-old girl

Bangalore: A five-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by an autorickshaw driver from Jakkur on the outskirts of the city on Monday.
The Amrutahalli police, who are investigating the case, said Rakshita and her father, Srinivas, of Hosur were travelling from Majestic to their relative's house in Kempapura around 3.30 p.m. when the incident occurred. The autorickshaw driver allegedly missed the turn towards Kempapura on Bellary Road and took them through Jakkur Layout instead. There, on Rakshita's insistence, Srinivas asked the driver to stop at a bakery and got off to buy cake for her. The driver then sped off with the girl in the vehicle.
Murdered
An argument during a cricket match resulted in a 24-year-old man being clubbed to death with a cricket bat in Basaveshwaranagar on Tuesday. Devaraj was beaten to death in Kempe Gowda grounds. The Basaveshwaranagar police have arrested six persons .
Burgled
Over Rs. 6 lakh worth of gold and cash was reported stolen from a house in Maruti Housing society in Madivala on Tuesday.
