Bangalore: Goals by P. Arun and Venkatesh led Postal to a 2-0 win over Rail Wheel Factory in the BDFA Super Division league here on Wednesday.
Arun opened the scoring in the sixth minute before Venkatesh sealed the victory with a strike in the second half.
‘A' division: Bangalore Mars 3 (S. Kumar 4, Dinesh 40, 63) bt Southern Blues 2 (Sridhar 73, Santhosh 77).
Super Division: RWF 0 lost to Postal 2 (P. Arun 6, Venkatesh 76) .
Easy for Lucky XI
Helped by a brace each by centre-forward Arbaz (5th & 85th minutes) and left-out Asif (20th & 35th minutes),
Lucky XI registered a 4-1 win over Royals FC in their Group ‘B' tie of the MDFA ‘A' Division football league for the Achutharao Memorial Trophy at the University grounds at Mysore on Wednesday.
Right-out Lawrence reduced the margin for the loser in the 60th minute of the game. At half-time the winner led 3-0.
Lucky XI has played five games and has won two, drawn two and lost the other one while Royals FC has played four and has lost all.
Madaiah nets winner
K.D. Madaiah's 40th-minute strike led Kaveri Hockey Club to a one-goal victory over Shree Kumareshwara Hockey Club in the KSHA ‘C' division league championship here on Wednesday.
The inaugural IMG Reliance school basketball league will commence here on Thursday.
The inter-school competition features 10 boys' and eight girls' teams, with fixtures played on a home and away basis.
Both sets of teams have been split into two groups; the top two in each will enter the semifinal league at the end of the round-robin stage.
