COIMBATORE: National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) will conduct a four-day Regional Training Camp from June 20 to 23 for officials who will be involved in the survey work to ensure that uniform standards and procedures of data collection are followed. Officials from the State Directorate of Economics and Statistics are also expected to participate in the training. The 68 {+t} {+h} Round of the National Sample Survey will be conducted from July 2011 to June 2012 and this round is earmarked for the collection of data on ‘Household Consumer Expenditure' and Employment and Unemployment', a press release issued by NSSO's office here said. The data on household consumer expenditure will be used for estimating the number and proportion of people living below the poverty line and constructing indicators of level of living, inequality, social consumption and well-being. In Tamil Nadu (West) Region of NSSO, data will be collected from approximately 165 villages and 140 urban blocks. At the national level, data will be collected from approximately 7,516 villages and 5,268 urban blocks. The training will be held at COINDIA at Race Course in the city. It will be inaugurated by Bharathiar University Vice-Chancellor C. Swaminathan.
