Why water proofing?

There is little rain and the water table is very low on my site, so why do I need waterproofing is an often stated argument. Only to regret later! One bad decision the life of the structure is reduced.

What needs waterproofing?

Normally, it is a structure that involves reinforced concrete or perhaps metal. Longer the life of the concrete, longer the life of the structure. And the concrete survives longer if the deterioration is minimizes. Here comes the role of water proofing within time, irrespective of rain and/or the water table. The idea is to arrest the deterioration, to enhance the life of the structure.

There is clearly a need and the importance of waterproofing, which regrettably is overlooked by many including civil engineering professionals.

Further, the environmental factors also influence the deterioration. Engineers attempt to protect the deck of bridges by providing wearing courses and yet they neglect to protect other parts of bridges. BITUMAT waterproofing is needed to really protect the structure to ensure building longevity . the real benefits of Bitumat waterproofing system will be to protect structures against carbonation of concrete and corrosion of reinforcing bars.

In case of concrete structure, Bitumat Waterproofing system prevents alkali-silica reaction. It can guard the protected structure against chloride and sulphate attack.
