Bank linkage target for SHGs pegged at Rs 410 cr in Guntur district

GUNTUR: The district administration has pegged the Self–Help Group (SHG) bank linkage target for 2011-12 at Rs 410.60 crore for 17,723 groups. The amount disbursed last year was less at Rs 355.47 crore but the number of groups that benefited stood at 20,775.

This year, Chaitanya Godavari Bank will disburse the highest amount of Rs 111.33 crore to 4538 groups, State Bank of India 93.24 crore to 4328 groups and Andhra Bank Rs 83.30 crore to 3713 groups, In-Charge Collector A Sarath announced in a meeting on SHG bank linkage action plan on Thursday.

District Rural Development Agency Project Director G. Gangadhar Gowd, Andhra Bank Deputy General Manager P.S. Subba Rao and Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty State Project Manager Y.V. Raghunadha Reddy and others were present.
