NDFB militant killed in encounter
TEZPUR (ASSAM): A militant of the National Democratic Front of Boroland was killed in an encounter with the police in Assam's Sonitpur district on Thursday.
A group of three militants fired at a patrol party at Chelaikhati under Balichang police outpost. The police returned fire and killed a militant. The other two escaped.
A 9-mm pistol, nine live cartridges, two empty cartridges and a grenade were recovered from the person of the slain militant, the police said.
The police launched a search along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. — PTI
