‘Youth can free nation from corruption'

Staff Reporter

NIZAMABAD: Principal of Giriraj Government College Principal Moria Eenus Kiran has said eradication of corruption in society is possible only by committed youth.

Inaugurating the one-day relay hunger strike camp organised by Youth Against Corruption (YAC) near the collectorate here on Thursday, she said the whopping amount of black money stashed in Swiss Banks was indication of the level of corruption in the country, and it was the major hurdle in development. She strongly felt that corruption-free society would materialise only when youth and students fought against the evil. She said the malady of corruption was subjecting the rural people extreme hardship.

ABVP State secretary Moola Ramu, who arrived to express his solidarity, said the counter campaign by the Central government on those who had launched the fight against corruption was unbecoming of it. The YAC was set up to bring together even the common man in the fight against corrupt practices at all levels, he said.

Expressing his total support to the movement, T-JAC leader and physician J. Bapu Reddy said unless the monster of corruption was driven away, the economy and society would not progress. The ABVP Telangana University in-charge Kiran Kumar spoke.

Meanwhile, the CPI (ML)-New Democracy activists took out a rally to the Collectorate demanding rooting out of corruption in the government.
