THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 11 fully automated e-toilets, backed by Internet and mobile phone technology, will be installed in the capital. Two toilets each are to be installed at Ashoka beach and Eve's beach at Kovalam, and at Sanghumukhom beach; and one each at Gandhi Park, behind the Government Secretariat, Vellayambalam, and Kowdiar. Orders had been issued to Keltron to install the 11 e-toilets in six months, District Collector Dinesh Arora said here. The district administration will provide Rs.50 lakh out of the Rs.55.5 lakh needed. Keltron will have to pool in the remaining money. Keltron had also been awarded the maintenance contract of the e-toilets for seven years by the district administration.
