Sub-registrar arrested

Tirupur: The Kunnathur police on Thursday arrested a sub-registrar, who is presently working in Coimbatore district, on the charges of forging documents in a land transfer deal.
The police said that Sivasubramaniam committed the fraud while he was a sub-registrar at Kunnathur a year ago.
Jewellery stolen
A total of 25 sovereigns of jewellery, cash of Rs 1,500, silver items and two ATM cards were allegedly stolen from a house of a businesswoman near Avinashi on Thursday. The police said burglars entered the house in the absence of the residents by breaking open the door.
The Avinashi police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Two killed
Two persons were killed and one injured when two motorbikes collided each other along Muthur-Vellakoil road on Thursday.
The deceased were Selvi (35), wife of Nallakumar, and M. Anguraj (36). Nallakumar escaped with injuries, police said. The Vellakoil police have registered a case.
