Applications invited for vocational courses

CHENNAI: The Chennai Corporation has invited applications for the certificate courses offered by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) in computers, and for those seeking training to become plumbers, electricians, fitters, mechanics and motor mechanic vehicle servicing.

While the students who have passed the class XII examinations are eligible for the course in computers, those who have cleared the class X examination are eligible to train as electricians, fitters, mechanics and motor mechanic vehicle service technicians, a press release said. Those who have cleared the class VIII examinations could apply for the course in plumbing. Students who went to Chennai Schools or are children of employees of the Chennai Corporation would be given preference in admissions . The application forms for the courses, priced at Rs.10 each, will be available at the Chennai Corporation Vocational Training Centre, K.R. Ramasamy Nagar, Square Block, Lloyds Colony, Chennai – 6000014. For details, call: 2847 3117.
