State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy receiving a trident at the Regional Youth Convention organised by the party's Yuva Morcha in Tirupati on Saturday. — TIRUPATI: Bharatiya Janata Party State president Kishan Reddy said that the party was not worried at all over the repeated criticism from the Congress leaders that the RSS and the BJP were behind Baba Ramdev's crusade against corruption. Addressing a regional convention of the BJYM cadres at Tirupati on Saturday, he said that fighting against the scourge of corruption in high places and crusading for protection of democracy have been the avowed policies of the RSS right from the beginning and cited as examples the crucial role the RSS and the BJP had played when Indira Gandhi declared Emergency in the country for her own political survival and also when V.P. Singh raised the issue of Bofors scandal against Rajiv Gandhi. He wondered what was wrong even if it was true that the RSS and the BJP were behind the Baba's movement against corruption. The BJP leader said that the Baba, who had been espousing the cause of yoga to help people lead a healthy life, was now on another campaign — ridding the country of corruption. Mr. Reddy claimed that the election results of Bihar, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu clearly reflected the public rage building up against corruption which he said had become a big drain on the country's exchequer. He said that the party strongly felt Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who refuted the charges of corruption against former Telecom Minister A. Raja in the 2G Specrum scam should now resign on the grounds of collective responsibility as Raja was arrested. Among other participants were BJP's State official spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, BJYM State president K. Venkateswarlu, and BJP national executive member Santha Reddy.
