Paying tributes:Vivekananda Express, an exhibition train to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, is stationed at the Cantonment Railway Station in Bangalore. – BANGALORE: Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniyappa on Saturday said there was no need for any confusion on granting permission to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. for commercial operations to run Namma Metro between Byappanahalli and M.G. Road. The Minister was speaking after welcoming Vivekananda Express, an exhibition train to commemorate the 150th birth centenary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda, at the Cantonment Railway Station here. The train showcases the life and works of Swami Vivekananda. Mr. Muniyappa said his Ministry would give the safety certificate after an inspection. However, it was for the State Government to complete all pending works utilising the grants made by the Union Government, the Minister added. Mr. Muniyappa said the exhibition train had already covered about 3,000 km disseminating the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Messages are displayed in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. The train will be stationed at the Cantonment Railway Station between 9.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. till June 20.
