Dowry harassment: pastor held

Bangalore: A pastor of a Jalahalli church, who had been absconding after his wife filed a dowry harassment complaint with the police, was arrested on Saturday evening.
Police arrested K. Shantaraju (45) of the Bethel Church and Bethel Student Centre in Siddharthanagar, near Jalahalli Cross.
Priyanka, his wife, had filed charges of harassment and criminal intimidation against him at the Gangammagudi Police Station. She had also accused her husband of sexually exploiting young girls of his parish and that he and his family had threatened her into silence.
Meanwhile, police said as no girl had come forward with a complaint against Shantaraju, they were not investigating that angle.
