Complaint on flashing of laser beam at pilots
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: A police complaint has been lodged by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Southern Region, about the flashing of laser beam at pilots of three aircraft while they were landing at the Chennai airport.
Airport sources said that pilots belonging to three different flights of Jet Airways complained on Friday that laser beams followed their aircraft and, when the aircraft was about to land from the St. Thomas Mount side, the beams were flashed at their face. When contacted, DGCA authorities said that a similar complaint from a foreign airline had been reported to them. Apart from lodging a complaint with the police, the DGCA would also take up separate investigation.
