UCO Bank's loan hub inaugurated

BANGALORE: Minister for Forests and Small Scale Industries (SSI) C.H. Vijayashankar on Saturday inaugurated UCO Bank's SME (Small and Marginal Enterprises) Loan Hub initiative here.

Survey

With an intended target of Rs. 500 crore for its SME loans, Mr. Vijayashankar urged the bank to conduct a survey to find out where within the State it could provide its SME loans.

With nearly two-thirds of its branches serving the rural and semi-urban populace, the bank introduced the loan hub initiative to Small and Marginal Enterprises as they comprise the largest employment-generating sector after agriculture in India, a press release said.

Among the chief guests and speakers present at the inauguration were Arun Kaul, Chairman and Managing Director of UCO Bank, and Ajai Kumar, its Executive Director.
