Lokeswar, Shiyad score a brace each

BANGALORE: Lokeswar Singh and Shiyad scored a brace each to help MEG blank SAI 5-0 in a BDFA Super Division league match at the Football Stadium, here on Saturday.

Suraj Singh also scored for the victor.

Germanite HC, thanks to a brace from Aaoron Pacheeho and one from Deepak Felix, downed Jude Felix Hockey Academy (JFHA) in a ‘C' division hockey league action at the KSHA Stadium, here on Saturday.

The day's two other matches were high-scoring wins for Dhyan Chand HC and Rising Star HC respectively.

Rising Star HC scored a whopping 17-0 win over Metro HC with goals from Abhishek (four), Joseph Vijay (three), Reddy (three), Muniyappa (three), Sharath, Stephen, Manoj and Jerin.

Dhyan Chand HC won 7-0 over Chitradurga HC with T. Shiva (three), Nagendra (two), K. Prem and K. Veeresh being the goal-getters.

Kumarans Children's Home scores

Kumarans Children's Home registered a 29-17 win over National Public School in the girls' section of the IMG-Reliance-promoted inter- School basketball league at the Bishop Cotton Girls School courts on Saturday.

The winners led 17-10 at the half-way stage.

Host Bishop Cottons and Mary Immaculate too registered fluent victories.

This BFI initiative is played on home and away format.

emerge champions

Neeraj Raj and Disha Gupta emerged champions in the cadet boys' and girls' segments respectively at the Canara Union State-ranking table tennis tournament on Saturday.

Putting his best foot forward when it mattered the most, M.S. Arun registered a 4-1 win over B. Bhaskar with a 97 break in the first frame on the concluding day of the State snooker top-eight league at the KSBA Hall, here on Saturday.

Arun topped the rankings at the end of the three-day event followed by I.H. Manudev and Balaji Reddy.
