It is a rewarding experience,” he said. Thrissur taluk Library Council secretary Jayan Avanur also spoke. Addressing a meeting organised in remembrance of P. N. Panicker at the Appan Thampuram Smaraka Vayanasala, critic K. P. Sankaran said that that reading should be a habit as essential as eating. “Reading is the key to unlock the secrets of one's mind,” he said. He stated that the quality of Malayalam writing was deteriorating. “Children should have a passion for their mother tongue. They should strive to protect Malayalam,” he said.
