‘Fill vacant posts in GPs'

Staff Correspondent

Bidar: Ishwar Khandre, MLA, has requested Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jagadish Shettar to fill all vacant posts in the gram panchayats of Bhalki taluk.

“For the 35 gram panchayats, there are only 15 panchayat development officers and 12 secretaries. This slows down development as the zilla panchayat is not able to implement programmes efficiently,” he said in a memorandum to the Minister who visited Bhalki on Sunday.

He also demanded that the money meant for the development of villages under Suvarna Gram scheme be released immediately. He sought Rs. 100 crore for the development of 38 roads in Bhalki taluk and asked for special grants to take up permanent drinking water schemes for all villages.
