Indore: Senior BJP Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that there were no differences in the party's State unit over the re-induction of Uma Bharti into the party.
“Since this decision [on Uma Bharti] was taken, I have been continuously touring and have not even entered the U.P. border. But there are no differences in the party on the issue,” Mr. Singh told journalists.
“Some leaders from Uttar Pradesh met me after this development and I found that there are no differences in the State unit of the party on the issue,” he added.
Asked whether the BJP was annoyed due to senior leader Gopinath Munde, Mr. Singh said that since the BJP was a large party, there were chances of people having grievances. “But, I think we can sort out these issues by sitting across the table,” he said.
He termed the BJP president Nitin Gadkari's tenure as better than his own term as the party chief. “I can say, on a personal level, that Mr. Gadkari is doing better than me,” Mr. Singh said.
On the Congress terming yoga guru Baba Ramdev as the mask of the RSS and the BJP, he expressed displeasure and alleged that the Congress was indulging in such talks as it wanted to deviate people's attention from the issues of corruption and black money stashed away in foreign banks.
He said the BJP did not want a “toothless” Bill against corruption and that the government should present it in the upcoming monsoon session of the Parliament as promised earlier. — PTI
