4-hour load shedding plan postponed

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation has postponed the proposed four-hour load shedding in the city and its suburbs.

According to a press release, the four hours of load shedding, which was supposed to be carried out for executing line connectivity work to the TNEB-NTPC joint thermal power plant at Vallur in north Chennai from Tuesday, has been cancelled following postponement of the link up work.

No dates have been fixed for taking up the connectivity work. The power cut was to be carried out in staggered phases of one hour for every four hours on rotational basis from June 21 to 30.

The substations covered by load shedding include Melur, Manali, SIPCOT 1 and 2, Thiruttani, Palayaseevaram, Thiruvallur, Mosur, Pallur, Salai 1 and 2, Orikai, Oragadam, Perungudi, ETL, Kadaperi, Kodambakkam,

Thirumangalam, Porur, Puzhal, Mathur, Thirumullaivoyal, Durainallur, Raj Bhavan, Thiruvanmiyur, Velachery, Madipakkam, Padi, Mogappair and Periyar Nagar.
