MAHABUBNAGAR: Collector M. Purushotham Reddy distributed computers procured at a cost of Rs 6.18 lakh among 19 madrasas in Mahabubnagar district. Addressing a meeting on Monday, the Collector underscored the need for improving the literacy levels among the minority community. He said that out of 69 madrasas, 42 had come forward to adopt general education under Rajiv Vidya Mission.The government sanctioned an amount of Rs. 79 lakh for running of madrasas and also a batch of teachers were trained in computer education. The midday meal scheme was also extended to madrasas, he said. The Collector asked officials and madrasas to work for improving enrolment among minority community children.
