Wind blows up power production in Theni

THENI: Theni district will soon find one of the top places in the national map of wind energy, thanks to strong wind with high velocity and massive enthusiasm shown by multinational and national companies.

The Electricity Board officials believe that number of units would be doubled by the year end. At present, the district has around 325 units and over 80 units are under construction.

The private players have been commissioning wind turbines at a rapid pace throughout the district. Already, foreign players have established their foot in the district firmly.
