Change of guard:K.V. Rao taking over as in-charge Vice-Chancellor of ANU in Guntur on Monday. Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Y.R. Haragopal Reddy looks on. GUNTUR: K. Viyanna Rao, Rector, Acharya Nagarjuna University, took over as in-charge Vice-Chancellor of the university on Monday. Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Y.R. Haragopal Reddy felicitated Dr. Rao on the occasion. Registrar M.V.N. Sarma, OSD N. Samuel, and Principal of Arts College G. Prasad were present. Dr. Rao said that the university had just embarked on a new academic year and promised to strive to tone up the administration. Beginning his stint at ANU as a lecturer in 1979, Dr. Rao went on to occupy several teaching and administrative positions in a career spanning 33 years. He was promoted as Reader and then as professor of commerce in 1994. He was appointed Financial Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and served as Special Officer of examinations during 1995-1997. DR. Rao took over as Dean, College Development Council, in 2003 and was promoted as Registrar in 2006. He assumed office as Rector in 2008. Mr. Haragopal Reddy too was made Vice-Chancellor from his earlier position as Rector and now Dr. Rao seems to be following suit.
