KAKINADA: Tribunals headed by the Revenue Divisional Offices in the district will take care of senior citizens who have been neglected by their family members. Senior citizens (aged above 60 years) will have to submit an application to the RDO concerned seeking care and protection. At a review meeting on the welfare of the senior citizens here on Monday, Collector M. Ravi Chandra said that a special Act promulgated by the government was assuring care and protection to all the senior citizens who were neglected by their wards. As per the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, tribunals were being set up in the district, he said. “Either the senior citizens or their representatives can submit the applications to the tribunals at the Revenue Divisional office concerned,” Mr. Ravi Chandra explained.
