IKP employee held on graft charge

NELLORE: A self help group (SHG) woman, Challa Bujjemma, was vexed with the harassment of a corrupt employee, has approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and booked him.

Following the complaint, the ACB team headed by DSP B. Sharat Babu trapped the accused K.V.Krishnaiah while accepting Rs.3,000 bribe from the woman at the office on Monday. Krishnaiah is working as community facilitator in Indira Kranthi Padam (IKP).

According to Bujjemma, the Saraswathi Mahila Group had taken about Rs.1.80 lakh loan twice and repaid the amount in time. Again, the group members applied for a loan and the community facilitator demanded Rs.3,000 for sanctioning the same. “The accused did not signed on the cheque until the group leader, Bujjemma, paid the bribe,” the group members alleged.
