Postpone transfers, employees' association urges government

Staff Correspondent

Shimoga: Karnataka State Government Employees' Association president Bhairappa has opposed the move to transfer employees of the State government in the month of June.

He told presspersons here on Monday that the general transfer used to be held in May earlier. The State government has extended the date of general transfer to June 30.

As schools and colleges had reopened, transfer at this juncture would cause hardship to employees, he said.

He appealed to the government to give up general transfer this year. However, the requests for mutual transfer could be considered, he said.

The State-level sports meet of the State government employees would be held in Chitradurga from July 6 to 8.

The aAssociation had invited Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to inaugurate the event, he said.
