CBI ordered to hold further probe into suicide of Kaviyoor family Couple and three children were found dead in house Kochi: A CBI special court on Friday ordered the CBI to conduct a further investigation into the case relating to the suicide of a 15-year-old girl and her four family members in Kaviyoor in Pathanamthitta. The court directed the investigation agency to complete the probe and file a report in three months. The girl, her 40-year-old father, a temple priest, her mother (35), eight-year-old sister and five-year-old brother were found dead inside their house at Kaviyoor on September 28, 2004. While Narayanan Namboodhiri, father of the girl was found hanging, the others had died after consuming some poisonous substance. Petition The order was passed on a petition filed by T. Nandakumar, Editor, Crime, a forthnightly. According to him, there was no proper probe by the CBI into the importance aspects in the case. Nor any investigation was conducted to ascertain whether the girl was sexually exploited by any of the accused in the Kiliroor sex scandal case. The girl had been promised roles in films and TV serials and taken to various places and sexually exploited. He pointed that the CBI had not probed the contents of a letter written by her friend to a judge. The CBI had failed to investigate the case scientifically and analyse the ante-mortem injuries found on the body of the dead.
