Bangalore: The Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (KDSS) will organise a convention on “Dalit unity convention for social equality” in Davangere on June 27 to mark the 73rd birth anniversary of DSS founder B. Krishnappa.
KDSS State chief convenor Mavalli Shankar told presspersons here in Bangalore on Monday that 30,000 people are expected to participate in the convention. CPI General Secretary Siddanagouda Patil and the former Chairman of the Kannada Book Authority S.G. Siddaramaiah will speak on the occasion.
He recalled that B. Krishnappa had formed the DSS in 1975 in Bhadravati to take up pro-Dalit struggles.
